About Us
F.I.C.S. of Maryland, Inc. is a family run business with father-daughter team, Bill Hart and Sandy Hart Long.
Bill:
Bill Hart, founder and president of F.I.C.S., left the corporate world over 20 years ago to start what began as "Farmers Insect Control Systems," a small business that focused only on fly spray systems. While he started out with only 30 fly spray systems, through a reputation of a quality product, fair pricing, and outstanding service, he now has over 300 systems throughout the East Coast.
During his rounds to barns to service the fly spray systems, Bill noticed and became interested in a variety of other products. Over the years, he continued to add only the highest quality products to the company's portfolio to transform F.I.C.S. from a a small, local fly spray company to one that offers the finest and most innovative products and services for stables and arenas throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

Sandy:
Sandy Hart Long left her teaching career several years ago to join the family business and work alongside her father, Bill. She has been riding both competitively and recreationally for over 20 years in a variety of disciplines. She currently has 3 horses at her farm, in Hampstead: Bailey, a young thoroughbred mare who is teaching Sandy a lot, Ranger, a recently retired gelding who Sandy showed successfully in both hunters and eventing and who she foxhunted for a few years, and Molly, an "aged" bay Gotland Pony who loves packing around Sandy's daughter, Madelyn.
In addition to riding, Sandy has been judging locally for a few years now and is working on becoming a recognized judge in Maryland. She also has a few select clients to whom she teaches lessons.
